In addition to the shelling of various grains and legumes, with a conical shelling machine also the grain surface can be treated. Via a feed screw, the product is fed into the working chamber of the machine where a set of conical stones with air channels in between is arranged on a hollow shaft which is surrounded by a conical screen basket. The outlet of the working chamber is completed by a plate the counter-pressure of which can be variably adjusted by springs.
One special aspect worth mentioning is the gap adjustment between the shelling stone and the screen basket. By adjusting the height of the stone set, the distance and thus the shelling intensity can be adjusted variably, even during operation.
The grain passes through this working chamber and is shelled by the stone set. Depending on the intensity, the surface is polished, adhering impurities or the husks of the grains are removed. The removed husks are sucked off through the screen basket by means of a separate, laterally mounted aspiration connection. Air cools the product during the shelling process and at the same time supports the discharge of husk particles and dust.
Advantages of the conical shelling machine:
- Gentle treatment
- Variable gap adjustment
- Uniform load
The conical shelling machine is one of many of high-performance shelling machines of the company Schule. This machine not only causes a reduction of the shells, which protects the subsequent process, but also treats the grain surface of the respective product.
