In conventional industrial plants, the saponins contained in quinoa are removed by repeatedly washing it with water. In contrast, the process specially developed by SCHULE Mühlenbau does not require any water.
Quinoa is first cleaned in the circular vibrating screen and the destoner and sorted in the indented cylinder; then the saponins are removed in the polishing machine means of friction. Further separation in the colour sorting machine results in a high-quality final product.
The following overview shows all SCHULE machines used for the processing of quinoa.
