When it comes to precise sizing on a small area, a plansifter is used. It consists of several screens stacked on top of each other which oscillate freely while performing a horizontal circular movement. The product to be sorted is fed into the plansifter through the inlet funnel and it is discharged through various screens with different mesh widths.
The product is often screened through several screens inside the plansifter until the desired separation is reached. Hierbei entstehen mehrere Fraktionen mit unterschiedlichen Korngrößen. A lateral displacement of the product on the screen surface inside the plansifter causes sorting and layering according to size and specific weight. These different fractions are collected separately and fed to the outlets via special channels.
The separation efficiency of the sifter depends on the respective layer thickness of the product, the sifting time, and the cleanliness of the screen. The latter is ensured by special screen cleaning devices.
The plansifter is one of many classifying machines of the company SCHULE. The classification of products ensures more efficient further processing on downstream machines, such as the indented cylinder.
